On October 6th, Marysville FFA’s assistant officers and officers attended the District Meeting. Assistant officers that attended were; Kelsey Bosold, assistant Vice President and Emily Rostofer, assistant Secretary. Officers that attended were; Ryan Cook, President, Taci Welch, Vice President, Leighann Shanklin, Reporter, Alli Lee, Secretary, Shae Leeper, Treasurer and Logan Williams, Student Advisor.
At the District meeting FFA members go through leadership activities. The leadership activities such as, how to be a better person, possible activities for FFA chapters, how to raise money, etc. Marysville FFA’s president Ryan Cook is also the District’s Vice President. Ryan Cook planned an activity was groups of about five people would get together and plan a community based activity. The groups would plan where the activity was located, when it would be held, draw a map of the activity and describe how it involved the community. Going away from this event, FFA Chapters had an opportunity to further their leadership abilities as well as, learn some new activities and how they can approach different activities within their chapter. In the spring, another District Meeting will be held which will be when members of all chapters have the opportunity to run for District offices.
