On Wednesday, December 16th, Marysville FFA officer, Cassidy Page, sent out an abundance of gifts given to military soldiers for Christmas. Members of the chapter donated gifts such as beef jerky, movies, socks, playing cards, and other highly requested items from soldiers. The gifts were sent to soldiers who were previously a Marysville FFA Member; Sam Rostofer, Kyler Cline, Patrick McGuire and Justin Holland.
Extra items were included in these gifts so that the former FFA members could then act as “Santa Claus” to their fellow soldiers, passing out the extras to the rest of the soldiers in their unit. This is the second year for this type of gift package, as students started the idea last year after learning that their former FFA President, Justin Holland, was deployed overseas and would not be home for Christmas. Holland and his fellow soldiers were very appreciative of the gifts, and the chapter recognized that this was a great opportunity to give back to those that sacrifice for all to have freedom. It seems that the local chapter has made the beginnings for a good tradition for years to come.
