In 2013, Sa’fyre Terry was only six years old when her father’s home was set on fire. The arson attack was initiated by her mother’s boyfriend. The fire killed her father and three siblings, who were all under the age of 3. Because her father wrapped his body around Sa’fyre and protected her from the flames, she survived. Unfortunately, 75 percent of her body was chared. Sa’fyre lost her left foot and her right hand, and has had over 50 surgeries to graft skin over her burns.
This holiday season, Sa’fyre Terry, now 8, is reaching out to the world. What is her wish? Her wish is that people would send her Christmas cards to fill up her metal Christmas tree card-holder. Her hope is to fill the entire tree with cards. Her aunt, who is now her legal guardian, is also asking for donations towards Sa’fye’s surgeries. Since the Facebook photo of Sa’fyre and her card-holder has gone viral, Sa’fyre has received cards from all over the world and her family have been gifted with over $174,000. To add to this brave girl’s collection and help her family afford the surgeries she needs, click the link below to make a donation or send a Christmas card to the address listed below. Make sure to address the envelope to Sa’fyre Terry.
